Privacy Policy
Kodyfier Vault is operated by KODYFIER FUTURE TECHNO TRAINING PRIVATE LIMITED, Pune, India (Google Play developer: kodyfier).
Kodyfier Class Vault (“the Vault”) is the private learning portal for students of Kodyfier, run by KODYFIER FUTURE TECHNO TRAINING PRIVATE LIMITED (“we”). This policy covers the Vault website and the Kodyfier Vault mobile app. It explains what we collect, why, who else handles it, and how you can have it deleted.
Who can use the Vault
There is no public sign-up. Accounts are created by Kodyfier for enrolled students, who then activate them with a link sent to their email address.
What we collect
- Account details: your name and email address (given to us when you enrol), your password (stored only as a one-way Argon2id hash, never in readable form), and when you activated and last signed in.
- Phone number (optional): only if you add it on your profile. It is used only if we enable an SMS or WhatsApp reminder channel; class reminders today go by email. You can remove it at any time.
- Course access and fees: which batches and courses you can open and until when, and the fees and payments Kodyfier records for you (amounts, dates, method and receipt numbers).
- Learning activity: lessons you mark as watched, study notes you download, when you click Join for a live class, and your email reminder preference. Study notes you download may be stamped with your email address, so a shared copy can be traced to the account it came from.
- Discussions: questions and replies you post under recordings, which other students in the same course can read, and any reports you make about a post.
- Sign-in sessions: for each signed-in device, the IP address, the browser or device description, and when the session was created and last used. This keeps your account secure and lets you sign out other devices.
- Email delivery: a record of the reminder and account emails we sent you and whether delivery failed.
Aptitude practice progress, game progress and app preferences are saved only on your own device. They are not sent to our servers.
Cookies
The website sets one cookie, kcv_session, which keeps you signed in. It is HttpOnly and is not readable by scripts. We set no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
The mobile app
- Your sign-in token is kept in the device’s encrypted secure storage.
- If the app crashes or hits an error, a crash report is sent to our error-monitoring provider (Sentry): the error and stack trace, device model, operating system and app version, and your internal account id. It does not include your name, email address, screenshots or what you typed.
- The app shows no ads, contains no advertising or analytics trackers, and does not access your location, contacts, camera or microphone.
How we use it
- To let you sign in and show you the recordings, notes, live classes and practice you have access to.
- To send account emails (activation, password reset, deletion confirmation) and class reminders.
- To answer your questions and to moderate discussions.
- To keep fee and payment records.
- To protect accounts and the service: rate limits, detecting abuse, and fixing crashes.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who else handles it
- Our hosting provider, which runs the servers and database the Vault lives on.
- Our email delivery provider, which sends the emails described above.
- Sentry, for app crash reports as described above.
- YouTube (Google), which plays the class recordings through its privacy-enhanced embed. YouTube’s own privacy policy applies to playback.
- Live classes run on third-party meeting services, and the Live page may link to an optional Telegram group for class updates. Joining a meeting or the group is governed by that service’s own privacy policy; we do not share your account data with them.
Payments you make on kodyfier.com are processed by our payment provider under that site’s terms; the Vault only stores the record of what was paid. We disclose data to authorities only when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data while you have an account. When you delete your account, your personal details are removed straight away (see below). Fee and payment records are kept for as long as accounting and tax law requires, attached to an anonymous id: your name, email address, phone number and any notes written on them are removed, while amounts, dates, receipt numbers and payment references stay as part of the accounting record. Server security logs are kept for a limited time and then discarded.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from Delete your account, or by emailing thapatechnical@kodyfier.com. A confirmed request through that page takes effect immediately; requests by email are completed within 7 days. Deleting:
- removes your name, email address, phone number and password;
- deletes your sign-in sessions, your discussion questions (with their replies) and replies, the reports you made, watched lessons, note downloads, live-class join records and notification preferences;
- ends your access to every course; and
- keeps only fee and payment records, attached to an anonymous id, with notes removed and payment references kept as part of the accounting record, as described above.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, by writing to thapatechnical@kodyfier.com. We reply within 30 days. You can change your phone number and email reminder preference yourself on your profile.
Security
The Vault is served over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed with Argon2id, and sign-in, activation, reset and deletion links are stored only as keyed hashes, so a copy of the database alone cannot be used to sign in.
Children
The Vault is for enrolled Kodyfier students. If a student is under 18, enrolment is arranged with a parent or guardian, who may make any of the requests above on the student’s behalf.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the effective date above, and tell students by email before any change that affects how their data is used.
